Frequently Asked Questions
As per my professional Code of Ethics, our communication is strictly confidential, and no information will be released without your knowledge and written consent. However, there are limits to confidentiality, which include a legal duty to report information about suspected or potential abuse and neglect of children or vulnerable adults. Confidentiality may also be waived on clinical judgment that a client is at serious risk of harming themselves or others. If such a situation arises, I will make every effort to discuss it with you before taking any action, and I will limit my disclosure to what is necessary.
At our first session we will get to know one another and complete the initial assessment. This includes the issues that are bringing you to therapy, as well as other relevant information such as personal history. After the assessment is completed, I will offer you some first impressions of what our therapy sessions might include and what treatment plan I recommend based on the issues presented. I ask you to carefully consider whether you feel comfortable working with me, as the therapeutic relationship is an essential part of therapy. I feel honored to hear your story and look forward to working together to help you deepen your awareness to help access your own wisdom and strength.
