Counseling Services for

Individuals

My work with individuals is influenced by adult attachment theory. Even as adults we need emotional connection to develop and flourish. Learning about your emotional process and what leads to depression, anxiety and other challenges will assist us in gaining clarity and acceptance. Your emotional responses and experiences impact your interactions with others - professionally and personally. Our goal will be to explore relationships and connections, and ultimately identify, clarify, and become proactive regarding the problems you are facing.

I provide support and counseling for individuals struggling with a range of challenges, as well as mental health difficulties. These include:

  • Anxiety, depression and stress
  • Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Anger Management
  • Addictions
  • Behavioral interventions
  • Bereavement, grief and loss
  • Parenting Supports
  • Relationship Issues
  • Sexuality and Gender (LGBTQ)
  • Divorce/Relationship Endings

Grief and Loss

Incomplete recovery from grief can have a lifelong negative impact on one’s capacity for happiness. Grief is the expected and natural response to loss of any kind, but it can be complex with multiple and sometimes conflicting thoughts and emotions.

Despite grief and loss being something we all experience, as a society it is often a subject to be avoided, and can instill feelings of discomfort and uncertainty. As we navigate significant life transitions, we experience grief and loss through death, divorce, relationship endings, pet loss, infidelity, and many more. My belief is that loss needs to be valued, honoured, and heard with acceptance and compassion, and my goal is to help create that space for those going through this very difficult time.

CMAT Certification

Research tells us that nearly 50% of individuals struggling with addiction actually have multiple addictions. Failing to assess and identify these co-occurring disorders can hinder or extend a client’s recovery path.

As a Certified Multiple Addiction Therapist (CMAT), I offer a comprehensive approach to understanding and addressing multiple addictions, including chemical and alcohol dependency, financial disorders, eating disorders, and internet and gaming addiction. I am able to develop effective treatment plans adapted to each client’s individual needs, and address all the aspects of the addiction, which better supports clients in achieving sustained recovery.
